This is a little  something  that came to mind .

Dennis  stared  at his long time  friend  and former rival  with a bemused  expression . Ever since  he knew  him , Tom had a habit of being  absent  minded.

Dennis  slid a basket  over to Tom  , who took it while  the other slid his own basket  closer to him and plucked  a piece  of chicken  and ate . The two were  silent for  a  while , then Dennis  pointed  to the note  book. 

" What  are  you writing ? "

"Oh , nothing .  Just ...stuff you wouldn't  be interested  in ."

"What kind of stuff ? "

"Like I said , nothing  just stuff . "

Knowing  his friend ,  Dennis  decided  to let it go .

"Okay . You still on for tonight'?"

"Yeah ,same time ?"

With their  study time settled ,  both talked  about  other things . The conversation  going  well until  Tom suddenly  looked at his watch . 

"Crap!  I gotta go ! See you later !"

Dennis smirked  as he saw Tom leave .  Although  he was a little  shy ,he was a good friend  . He got up and  as he was about  to leave , something  caught  his  attention .  Tom's  notebook . He usually  kept it close to him . Curious ,Dennis  sat back down and opened  it before  he could  stop himself . His eyes went wide as he skimmed  through  it . "Hey . Come in ."

The younger  male  walked   in as the other male closedthe  door  behind  him .  Tom placed his bag on the table  and sat .

Dennis  came back with two glasses  of  soda  he gave one to Tom and sat next  to  him . They proceeded  to study   . After  a  while  Tom noticed  that  Dennis  would  get closer  to him than necessary . At first  it didn't  bother him ,but then the other started  getting  a bit touchy feeling  with him . It was unnerving .  He adjusted  his glasses  as he read from his book , Dennis  practically breathing  on him . He shifted  in his seat. 

"What's  wrong , Tommy ? "

Dennis  knew his friend  knew that he was getting  a  little  too close ,  he wanted  to see how far he could go before  Tom said anything . They continued  to read and take  notes . Dennis  kept making  overt  passes  at Tom , that is until  the other moved .

"Something  wrong ? " 

This time Tom was frustrated  enough  to say something . 

"Uh , Dennis ?  You've  been all over me . I don't  know what kind of joke you're  playing ,  but please  cut it out ."

Dennis  decided  to drop  the act and go in for the kill .

"I was wondering  when you were going  to  say something .  "

He leaned in and placed both hands on the arms of the chair .  Tom leaned back as his eyes went wide . 

"Dennis ? " 

"Mmm , Tommy .  I think  I have a better  idea .  "

Tom grabbed  the notebook , embarrassed  by what his friend  told  him . 

"You had no right  to  snoop  through  my stuff !   "
