AN: This takes place before Leonard and Penny and Amy and Sheldon got married. Oh and before Bernie started having kids. All spelling mistakes are my own.

Sheldon was always prepared. Always. So it was no surprise when everyone in Cal-tech was quarantined, except Sheldon. Yes Sheldon didn't get quarantined because he took two weeks off before the panic began to go see his meemaw in Texas. Who was suffering from the flu at the time but made a full recovery. Lucky for him, he made it back in time before the travel ban was put into place. So it was no surprise when he came back to an empty apartment. Sheldon ploped his bag on the floor and huffed over to Leonards room to ask him why he wasnt at the airport to pick him up. Finding it empty, he decides to call Leonard. As he was listening to the phone ring, In comes Penny. She smiles at Sheldon. After it rang 50 times Sheldon ends the call and turns to Penny.
"Penny why wasn't Leonard at the airport to pick me up? I told him when I was coming back. You know I hate having to take a taxi to get home!"
Pennys smile fades a little. She puts her hand on his arm and guides him to his seat on the couch.
"Sheldon, sweetie. Leonard is in quarantine at Cal-tech. He and all of the school got put on Lockdown 5 days ago after 4 people tested positive for the virus. And before you ask, that includes all our friends and Amy. Im sorry sweetie"
Sheldon remains frozen to his seat. Penny figuring that she broke him and protocal dictates that she make him a warm beverage. She goes and starts to make him one while Sheldon remains in his seat. Once done she holds it out to him to drink. He just looks up at it, then jumps up completely spilling the tea and breaking the cup on the floor. Sheldon heads straight to his room and slams the door. Penny, who is pissed that she got tea on her, stomps to Sheldons door and bangs on it.
"Damn it Sheldon, you got tea on me! Why did you feel the need to spill the tea?! Sheldon are you going to use the robot again!? Sheldon open this door now or else im going to go junior rodeo on you! Sheldon"
The door suddenly opens and Sheldon walks out in a hazmat suit. Penny backs up. Sheldon hands her a smaller one. Penny looks dumbfounded for a second. Sheldon turns and starts packing a suitcase. Penny watches as he finishes his, brings it out in the livingroom then heads to her apartment.
"Sheldon! What the hell is going on?!"
Sheldon turns around and huffs again.
"Penny, number 1 put on the Hazmat suit for your safety, 2 we need to pack and get out of california before they declare a state of emergancy and 3 I hope your car has gas because we are going to need it to make it to texas."
Sheldon turns back around and heads to Pennys room to pack. Penny puts on the suit then heads in to see Sheldon already done packing. Penny blocks the doorway.
"Sheldon why are we going to Texas? This virus panademic will blow over in no time. No need to panic."
"Penny I am not panicing. I just want to be safe and for you to be safe as well. I had purchased a condo in Texas years ago for all of us just incase something like this happens. I just restocked it before i came back. Now since our friends cant join us, we can be safe in Texas til this all blows over. All i am glad for is that you werent with them when they got Quarantined. How did they end up like that anyway?"
"Oh um you know Bert? Well he was in Japan around the time the virus started. He came back and was working days at the school til the government found out and put him on house arrest and tested him. Once it showed he was positive, everyone was called back to the school and was told by the government agencies that they are not allowed to leave for 2 weeks. I just got off of skype with Bernie when you came home."
"Yea sounds about right. Now hurry Penny we must leave now!"
"Sheldon wait! Why must we leave?!"
Sheldon huffs again.
"Its simple. Soon people are going to go crazy fighting for the Toliet paper and other stuff, there is going to be mass hysteria and no one will be safe. they wont beable to quarantine everyone in Cali. We are safe in Texas where our Neighbors are miles away. We wont be bothered."
"But what about your mom, sister, brother and MeeMaw?"
"They are fine. My mother is taking the necessary steps as we speak. They dont have to do much seeing as they all share one big land. Now hurry we must go"
Without a word, They left Cali in a huff and without further delay. It was hard to drive with the hazmat suit helmets so they took those off. When they reached Texas, The radio interupted one of Pennys favorite song to inform them that all of California is under quarantine. No one can go in and out, everyone was told to stay home and they have confirmed atleast 20 deaths so far. When the Radio when back to the music, Pennys phone went off. It was Bernie. Penny smiles and shows Sheldon. Penny puts the phone on speaker.
"Whats up Bernie?! Hows Quarantine?"
"Oh Penny its Horrible. I am out of Quarantine, but no one will let me see Howard or the others. I am worried."
"Im sure its fine Bernie. Maybe the boys and Amy need a couple more days to-"
"Oh ill call you back, Howards mom is here."
Penny hangs up and Sheldon grips his pants. It seemed like forever when the phone rang again. When Penny answered, Bernie sounded like she was crying.
"Bernie what is wrong?"
"Oh Penny its horrible. Howard, Leonard and Amy didnt survive the virus. I was told that Leonard went first, then Amy and Howard. Oh My god Howard is gone! What am i gonna do!?"
Penny stops the car at the side of the road to take a deep breath. She was about to say something when Sheldon butted in.
"Bernie, are you and Raj out of quarantine?"
"Yes Sheldon we are. I am sorry about Leonard-"
"No time for that now, You are Raj need to go home and start packing. I am going have Penny send you a text of a address in Texas. When you guys can, come to that Address. Penny and I will meet you there. You can drive again Penny, there is no traffic."
"Huh? I cant leave Howards mom to do the funeral arringments Sheldon. What kind of widow would i be if i hightailed it out of California with Raj?"
"Tell Howards mom that you need to get away for a while because you are so devestated by Howards death. Have Raj say the same. You can promise her you will be back as soon as they lift the ban. Now hurry! Penny take a left here!"
Silence on the phone for a minute before Bernie sniffs and says Ok. She hangs up
"Sheldon that was mean. Why cant she stay and greive for Howard?"
"She will have plenty of time to greive for Howard when she is safe with us in Texas. No telling how long it will take the city to bury the dead from the virus. It could take days, months. No now she needs to be safe from the virus and California. Take a right here."
Penny takes a right and sees a condo house. It stuck out like a sore thumb just off the highway. Once they were parked, Sheldon and her brought their stuff in and settled on the pale blue couch. It suddenly hit Penny like a ton of bricks and she started to cry. Sheldon gave her a hug thru the hazmat suit, rubbed her back. Once Penny was done crying, she looked at Sheldon and smiled.
"So Moonpie, Whats next?"
"We wait for Bernie and Raj and wait it out like i prepared. Expect to be here for 6 months and only my Meemaw calls me moonpie"
"Whatever you say. I guess now we can no longer make fun of you for preparing for natural disaters anymore."
"Nope. You can never be too prepared"
AN: we all know how Sheldon is. Seemed fitting to write about what he would do during this panademic. All spelling mistakes are my own. Just was your hands people and we will be fine. Dont hoard Toliet paper please.
