I love how you've captured Crowley - absolutely wonderful! And Dean's reaction to being told he was going to get to see and talk to Sam was terrific. When he actually arrives, his reactions to Lucifer are wonderful; I love how he's conscious enough of the situation to keep from his normal rash behavior. It shows just how much the demon's reign has curtailed his impulses. (I loved that he was wanting to tell Lucifer where to shove the bottle though. Priceless!)

The way you have Lucifer embracing Sam - I love the way you're setting this up. That Dean picks up on the interaction makes it that much more intriguing. I also like the conflict you're building within Dean - his knowing Lucifer's action is kind and his ingrained sense of cordiality warring with his knowledge that demons do nothing for free... And then the moment where he swears vengeance - I can picture that so easily. And with Dean I can easily imagine that there was a violent flash of his anger visible in his eyes for the briefest of moments.

I like how Dean questions all of the things that Lucifer is doing. I found it very interesting that he noticed that Lucifer was not only taking control - and reminding Dean of his presence - but that he was also taking care of Sam with all of the things he granted. You've done quite well establishing Lucifer's iron hand in this, even if Dean can't grasp his motivation just yet.

I laughed out loud at Though that made Dean twitch in a way he couldn't exactly explain - hilarious!

I like how Dean can accept the decision that Sam had to make to save them.

And it must just burn Crowley that he's basically an errand-boy. Now that he's going to be running errands to keep Dean, Bobby, Cas and Jesse entertained, I'm sure he's going to be that much more disagreeable.

Lucifer's monologue is interesting. His perception of humanity being completely challenged by Sam's emotional roller coaster is very well described, and his reaction to Sam's arousal was most amusing. The fact that he's not paying attention to Sam during those moments, though, makes me wonder just what Sam could have gotten up to that Lucifer would never have known about.

It speaks so well of Sam's nearly broken spirit that he barely fights Lucifer's decision at all. And Lucifer's deduction of Sam's desire, while underhanded, was well-played. This will be most intriguing!

Thank you for sharing, and as always, I'm looking forward to future chapters! (Even if it does take me a month to get the time to read them.)

I adore how you opened this. I could really feel the utter devastation that gripped Dean. And the description of the final battle was a thing of beauty.

Lovely setup by keeping them unharmed. The description of the one look passing between Lucifer and Dean was a lovely bit of foretelling.

I like how you've added Jesse in! Castiel's response was priceless!

Describing Sam's mental state - how he's dealing with being possessed - that's intriguing. Especially the line

It made it as though he felt like he was doing something to stop it even though it was worthless.

That sounds so much like Sam perceives what is happening as a form of rape, that he's having to share his very being with the dark angel, his soul and thoughts openly exposed to the prince of evil.

I have to say that having Sam agree so quickly with Lucifer is a wonderful demonstration of just how desperate he is to have human contact. He should be well aware - and certainly more than most - that making deals with demons is never something to be done flippantly. That he does make the agreement is a wonderful depiction of his demoralized state.

I absolutely love how you've started this off! I'm looking forward to more!
