TOMMY
There's something I have to tell you.

Malcolm simply looked at his son for a moment. He didn't quite know how to respond, in such an foreign situation.

MALCOLM
Pray tell.

TOMMY
I have... I have cancer.

MALCOLM
What? W-W-W-When?
I mean, when did you know?
Wha... ?

The last word he uttered was more of a sigh of bewilderment, really. But Malcolm didn't really need to ask the right question, Thomas already knew what he wanted to know.

THOMAS
I've known for a while.

MALCOLM
Why didn't you tell me?

THOMAS (severe; slowly making his way to the words)
I don't know if you've noticed, but... we haven't exactly been -close.
Anyway- I've already arranged everything. *swallowed* In the event of my death.

As Thomas took a deep breath, his father was taking everything in.

A couple of weeks later, Thomas would die.

MALCOLM
Does Laurel know?

THOMAS
Yes. She's... Supporting me though the... *pondered* treatment.
