She pondered it. She really did. And she decided to ask Malcolm out.
Thea had had a rough day, she really did.
LAUREL
Hey, can I drive you home?
THEA (edgy)
I really don't want to go home right now.
LAUREL
Yeah, alright. Wanna go for some drinks?
Laurel had also been wired. She had not been as fidgety as Thea, but the case had left them mentally, and emotionally drowning.
THEA
Are you okay?
LAUREL
I'm fine. I just need a drink.
Some time later...
THEA
Alright, that's it. You're going home.
Thea had pointed her at "you". She was determined to get her friend home in one piece.
THEA
I had no idea you were so heavy.
Laurel had complained.
LAUREL
I'm not heavy! It's the booze. It's making me lose my balance.
THEA
Yeah, that, it is.
In retrospect, she had not been anywhere close to having the strength to carry said friend.
MALCOLM
Need a hand?
THEA
Where did you come from?
Malcolm had easily supported Laurel's weight when he had thrown her arm over his shoulder.
MALCOLM
What, is she made of rocks?
Or not.
THEA
She says it's the booze, making her heavy.
LAUREL
I need to pee.
MALCOLM
How much did she have?
How much did she have, Thea wondered.
THEA
Best not... get caught up on details.
Malcolm laughed. And to Thea, it was contagious.
