Several weeks had passed, they had rebuilt the porch and stained/treated the new lumber after finishing up painting the outside of the house and the trim work. They had gone ahead and replaced the cupboards, cabinets, and counters in the kitchen after painting it. They even went as far as replacing the sink with a new double sink basin that is stainless steel, a new side by side fridge, and a fancy stove with a seperate double stacked stainless steel oven. The kitchen was done in a moden-chic design. The fancy kitchen appliances were choosen by Sam in hopes of getting the 'family' together for holidays, so he had helped pay for most of the kitchen upgrades which Mavi was fine with. By the time they had started on Mavi's room things were almost back to normal between her and Dean. Dean had wanted to talk about that night but he followed Sam's 'instructions' on not bringing it up just so things could go somewhat back to normal.
They were at a furniture store to pick out a few new pieces for Mavi's bedroom to update the decor. The only thing she wanted to keep from the original furniture was her parents four poster canopy bed with its dark wood and even darker purple flowing material making up the 'curtains' over the king size bed. The rest of the furniture was a light colored finish and she wanted to keep the darkness of the furniture to off set the lightness of the pastel, spring like purple she had picked out for the walls. Dean kept walking behind her and Sam quietly, just watching. He loved the idea of updating the house at first, but now he was just sick and tired of the constant on the go from dawn until dusk with the random trips to the store, the delivery guys between things her and Sam ordered online and from the hardware store, and the occasional bickering when Sam and Mavi couldn't agree. Dean just helps and stays on the side lines. He could careless about 'keeping up with the jones' or anything of the like, as long as he had a comfy bed and his laptop, he was all set. He was so busy doing his inward thought babble he didn't realize Mavi had stopped until he collided into her.
"Ow!", she says and out of instinct he reaches out and grabs her to steady her before she can fall over.
"Dammit Dean, watch were you are going."
"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention."
"Obviously.", she snorts as she fixes the long, strapless, sky blue colored maxi dress she is wearing.
She starts to look over the dark funiture settings and it didn't take her long to settle on a dark mahogany dresser, end tables, and a desk with an attatched book case next to it. She pays with her credit card and schedules the delivery for later that day. Her room was already painted, they had removed the carpeting and replaced it with a hardwood floor that shined.
"One more stop. We have plenty of time before they show up to set up the furniture."
"Where to now?", Sam asks with peaked curiosity.
"Walmart!", she laughs, "Best place to get wall decor and a rug."
They both groan.
"I will buy the take and bake pizzas.", she says in a bribing, motherly tone.
"Sold!", the boys say together.
At Walmart she makes the quick trip of picking up a pastel pink braided area rug with rainbow strips of cloth intertwined in the braids of the pastel pink. She also picked up some candle wall art with tea candles, as well as new pillar candles for the bathroom. Lastly she picked up a pink picture with the effiel tower in black and white fluffy clouds. SHe had the boys pick up the pizza and she mets them at the front and pays.
They got back home just as the furniture truck pulled up.
"Perfect timing. You guys cook the pizza. I will finish up my room once they get the furniture set up."
Sam tosses the pizzas in one of the ovens after the delivery guys leave. Mavi is only in her room for 10 minutes after the leave. She comes out and flops down on the love seat.
"And the first story is complete. Thank goodness..", she says with a content sigh.
"So we can take a break?", Dean asks hopefully as he sits on the chair.
"Yup. We can work on the upper story in the fall as we are only redoing my old room and repainting the bathroom you share with Sam."
"You mean I use myself... since Sam's taken my place.", he whispers the last part so only he can hear himself say it. She giggles, "True... but you both agreeds on a color."
Dean rolls his eyes as Sam sits next to Mavi on the love seat and she lays her head on his shoulder.
"If we are taking a break we should get back to our 'day job'.", Sam says as he pulls her closer to him and lays his head ontop of hers causing Dean to glare at Sam. Sam looks back at him with a look of annoyance. If Dean didn't do what he did, Sam would never had to take his place.
"I will call Bobby. See if he has anything for us.", Dean gets up and leaves the room.
