I should have run, should have left, but I lingered across the street. I watched the Colonel hovering anxiously by the gurney as they took Daniel away. I waited as the MPs came and left. They wouldn't find anything. I was careful.

But Daniel…

Killing him would make sense. He's the only one who knew I was responsible. But the thought of Daniel's lifeless body, cold and limp to my touch made my throat clench. I didn't go to the hospital. Rather, I snuck back into the base through an air shaft no one knew about. I made a good point to be seen wandering around and when no one was looking, I went into the computers and backdated my return to base last night. The Colonel knew about our dinner, but he has no way to accuse me now.

I feigned shock at the news; Daniel was found beaten within an inch of his life. My heart thudded when
I heard he was in a coma. It didn't look good and the Colonel never left his bedside.

I should have left. But instead, I went to the hospital, stared at Daniel through his ICU window from down the hall and abide my time.

I…I couldn't leave him.

Two weeks went by and I could tell from the rest of SG-1's faces that the investigation was going nowhere. Everyone was still saying he was beaten. I had a sneaky suspicion the Colonel kept the details out.

I prepared to leave. I build some sad story to General Hammond about a sister who's sick in Alabama. The old man swallowed it, offered his sympathies and granted my request for a three month personal leave. Just enough time to go AWOL and by the time they realized, it'll be too late. I would be far from the Colonel or anyone else's reach.

But I would also be far away from Daniel. I ended up staying the month; gave some excuse that the situation has not gone dire yet.

I saw Daniel once. The Colonel was coaxed to go home and change. I managed to pull guard duty for Daniel's room. The ICU nurse left to see another patient on the other side of the ward and I slipped inside to see Daniel.

Daniel was so pale, so limp, boneless when I held him gingerly. He felt thin and frail in the paper thin hospital gown. Aside from the nose canula, Daniel looked like he was just sleeping. I was careful not to upset any of the equipment keeping my Daniel alive. Daniel barely reacted as I finger fucked his ass, snaking a hand under his gown, three fingers scissoring tenderly inside his healing rectum. He felt so good; tight and hot even with the stitches I could feel. His dick reacted as I suckled the velvety sac, rolling his balls in my mouth. I drank every drop of cum that weakly trickled out. It was so tempting to fuck him right now, but I feared the nurse would come back soon. So I cleaned him up and kissed him softly in the mouth.

I feared reprisal, but I wanted Daniel to wake up too.

I went back out to my post, Daniel's salty cum lingering in my mouth, my fingers still smelling like him. I dared to go back three more times only before I was rotated out two days later. I hoped Daniel would somehow know I was still here. I'm his friend. I won't leave him.
