Chapter Eleven: Rattled Snake
“Not good,” Tony said softly. “I’ve counted at least ten,” Tim muttered. Another pot flew threw a broken window, breaking and letting out three more. “Now it’s thirteen,” Tony said softly, taking out his cell phone and dialling. “And we have a variety of them. Cobras, Mambas and rattlesnakes so far,” Tim muttered. “Yeah, I’m calling the locals,” Tony commented. Both he and Tim watched in silence as two more pots smashed to the floor, letting out more snakes. Taking careful aim, Tim fired a shot and hit a cobra, killing it. All the other snakes seemed to get aggravated and moved around a bit faster, hissing and rattling angrily. “Okay, not a good idea,” Tim muttered. He looked to the other bed. His knife was sitting on top of the bag, but it was a bit of a jump to the bed. The floor had a wide space, but the snakes nearby were fast moving and might strike. “What are you planning?” Tony asked. “To get my knife, but I need to shoot down two more snakes. What is taking so long?” Tim asked. “I’m on hold,” Tim hissed in impatience. “Oh for fuck sake,” Tim snapped, he took aim and fired another shot, killing another snake. Another one slithered back. Moving fast, Tim managed to get to the bed. “Yeah, about time,” Tony snapped to the other person on the phone. “This is Special Agent DiNozzo... yes, from Washington. Shut up and listen. Me and Agent McGee are in our Hotel room and we are under attack. Someone is throwing pots into the room and they were holding snakes. We are standing on chairs to make sure we are out of their way, but we need some back up quickly. Call the Hotel and tell them to avoid the room, and get someone over here to deal with this.” There was a slight pause. Tim watched as a snake slithered up his bed in curiosity, and his blade sliced off its head. “I know you are not in the knowledge of handling snakes, but neither are we.” He listened for a moment. “We can see Cobras, Rattlesnakes and Mambas.” There was another pause as he listened to the response. “Then call the local wildlife people and get them over here. Yeah, I got it.” Tony hung up the phone. “And?” Tim asked as he was looking out for other snakes getting close. “We wait and tell anyone else to go away,” Tony answered, taking aim at a snake slithering up his bed. A quick shot killed it. Two more pottery jars smashed on the floor and more snakes slithered out. “How do we get out of this?” Tim asked. “Do I look like I know?” Tony responded. NCIS Headquarters, Washington, MTAC “That’s good to hear Agent Callen,” Jenny said with a rare smile. “What has the Green Dragon to say for himself?” “Not a lot, really,” Callen replied. “He wants a lawyer and a cigarette, but he won’t get either until we either find all the information we want to get or he starts talking.” “At least give him a cigarette, just make sure he doesn’t do anything foolish. Even if you have to handcuff him and hold the cigarette for him. I want everything he has on Josie Hebi. You will also be happy to know that we have apprehended White Tiger, so Josie is the only one left standing.” “Understood ma’am,” Callen answered. He turned as someone walked in and handed him some papers. There was a long pause as he read the documents he was handed. “Anyrhing good, Agent Callen?” Jenny asked. “Oh, very good Ma’am. We have a full list of marine members, what they buy, when, where and whether or not they are using,” Callen said as he continued to read. “Green Dragon is very organised. A little too specific for his own good, but we like it.” “Be sure to have that list cross-referenced with what we have already and notify NCIS agents in those specific locations. I want nothing over-looked.” “Understood. We will start working on it right away,” Agent Callen said. “Excuse me Ma’am, you have a call coming through on another line. It is Agent Gibbs,” MTAC’s secretary called. “Excuse me Callen, I need to take this. Contact me with an update later today.” “Over and out ma’am.” Callen said. The screen changed to show Gibbs. “Hello Jethro, please tell me you have some good news,” Jenny said. “Nothing here. A lot of snake pens and cages and a standard living space, but Josie isn’t here. I think she knows that she has been compromised somewhat. The snake pens are empty and there is nothing specific to say anyone has been here for a while,” “Dammit! We have all four ring-leaders, now we only need Josie. If we lose her she can rebuild. While she won’t take the navy, she will find another major way to circulate. There are too many things at risk here.” Jenny turned away from the screen in anger. “We might have a lead on that Jen. She has left behind two recipts, one is for a plane ticket to Texas and one is an order to shift a lot of snakes there.” “Anything else?” Jenny asked. “Yes Director,” Ziva said, appearing behind Gibbs, holding something. “She has small rings moving through the Army and Air Force. While neither ring is as large as the one moving through the Navy, but it will only take a small push to make them into something as big as what we have been dealing with.” Ziva passed the notes to Gibbs and he started reading. “Have those emailed to Agent Fornell, he can clean that up. He wanted something to do in this, he can have it. We have enough to do,” Jenny continued. “However, make sure to find as much as you can on the Navy files, so we haven’t over-looked anything.” “Those files have been cleared out Director,” Ziva said. “She knows we’re onto her.” “I gathered that. We need to get onto DiNozzo and McGee and warn them. Meanwhile, I want you two to return here after cleaning that place out. Call extra members form the locals if you need them. Any stonewalling should be brought to my attention ASAP.” “Got that Jen,” Jethro said. Ziva disconnected “Call DiNozzo and McGee in Texas, now!” Jenny ordered, her panic and anger mixing. “Yes Ma’am,” called the operator. There was a brief amount of static and then the line connected. “McGee!” The director yelled into the microphone. The image was of Tim standing on a bed a number of feet away. “Director?” McGee asked. His voice was faint because he wasn’t wearing the headset. “What’s going on?” Jenny inquired. “A number of jars have smashed through the window and let out a bunch of agitated snakes. We’re being watched because the more we kill, the more they send,” McGee explained. “Tony has called the local NCIS, They are...” he was cut off by two shots ringing out. A moment later, another smash and there were more snakes slithering around. “... on their way here.” “Josie Hebi is there, Gibbs and Ziva found the trail. I’ll contact Texas and establish a three-way link.” “Gotcha!” McGee yelled. In the room, the snake count had stopped at twelve, but the snakes were well spread out that trying to cross the room could still be dangerous. While they had moved away from the bed in fright of the gun shots, the path to the door was blocked. A few minutes later, the link was established. “Give me an update!” Jenny demanded. “We have two teams outside the hotel. One is going in to deal with the snakes while others are going after Josie in the next building. You guys need to hold your breath when warned,” the man on the other side said. “Got it! What do we do then?” Tim asked. “A gas bomb will be thrown in the room that will repel the snakes and hopefully make a path to the door. Don’t breathe in too much because it will cause disorientation. When it goes off, and there is a path to the door, move!” “Got it!” Tim yelled to the headset. Minutes passed. Another snake was shot down as it tried to make its way onto Tim’s bed. “Now!” The voice called over the headset. Tim and Tony took a deep breath as something flew through the window. A moment later, there was a loud bang and gas filled the room. Blocking their noses, Tim and Tony saw the snakes slither towards the bathroom in an attempt to get away from the gas. Running for the door, Tim and Tony ran into the hall, and shut the door and ran a short distance before taking a breath. There was a sudden stampede of feet as three men in gas masks and with bags and hooks ran past. One talked into a communicator and then they ran into the room, shutting the door behind them. “This is getting out of hand,” Tony muttered. “I think it is time we went home.” Tim answered. “And give me up?” Tony asked. “Don’t tempt me!” That evening, a Penthouse in Washington Josie Hebi sat at her desk, her long black hair flowing down around her to the bottom of her ribs. Her face was covered by a steel mask that shone in the office lights that showed the carved snake in one side of the protective item. She looked at her desk with the four photos of her now captured drug lords looked up at her. In a flash of fury she ripped them up and threw them in the air. Standing and walking into the lounge area of the room, she gestured and a man ran over and poured her a drink. Sitting on a couch, she snapped her fingers. A door opened and in walked three men dressed in black with ninja masks. Taking off her mask, Josie had a half face mask over the lower part of her face. “Report,” she said in a monotone. “The snake attack failed,” one said in a similar tone. “Not good enough. I want those agents killed,” Josie snapped. “We are working on a new plan,” the tallest of the three answered her. “We have lost the four major pillars of our ring. I am the only one left standing. Luckily, we have a head start with the red herring we left them.” Josie took up a file from her coffee table. “Agent Timothy McGee has done well from what was an accidental discovery,” Josie muttered as she looked over the photos. “NCIS has cracked down hard on us. The ring is ready to fall,” one of the men explained. “I know. But I am going to fix that. This man who is spending a lot of time with him; Tony DiNozzo. I want to meet him. Bring him here and we will see if McGee is willing to trade his life.” Josie put down the photos. “What do we know of their co-workers?” “Our inside number reports of two other major players. Jethro Gibbs is their team leader,” One man said, stepping forward and passing her a folder. “He is a tough opponent, even for his age. Ex marine Gunnery Sargent. The other partner is an old friend of ours in the east. Ziva David has reappeared in NCIS since her brother was killed. Unfortunate since Ari helped us set up a part of this ring.” “Ziva David. I owe her a visit as well,” Josie said. “But for now, let us focus on Timothy. I want him for myself.” Josie stood and ran a hand up her leg, taking out a hidden Sai. Spinning it on her finger and then catching the handle, she studied the blade for a moment. “We have Tim and Tony under observation from the airport. White Tiger was shipped in under heavy security, so we couldn’t tail him, but we suspect he is at NCIS.” “He has been compromised. We all agreed that being compromised means no deals, you are dead.” Josie threw the Sai at the floor where it made a loud ting. “If you get a chance to kill him, do it. But I want you to kidnap Tony.” “Any particular plan?” one man asked. “Perhaps the chloroform tactic. Just make sure you find something incriminating as blackmail.” Josie smiled under her mask. “You are dismissed.” The three men walked out and Josie took up the file she had been handed. “Lisa Wong, I owe you a good amount of money. I will be sure to pass it through your bosses.” She skulled her drink, put her mask back on and retired to her bathroom. Tim’s Appartment, a few hours later “We just can’t get a break, can we?” Tony asked as he sat back on the couch, a beer in hand. “When will I be able to pay off this debt?” “Tonight will be your last night... or when you leave tomorrow, whichever makes you feel better.” Tim answered. “I think I can live with that,” Tony answered. He skulled the last of his beer and put the can down on the coffee table. He went over to Tim and straddled him. Leaning in, he kissed Tim on the lips, their tongues meeting and gliding over each other. Tim wrapped his arms around Tim, holding him close, kissed him back. His hands began to raise Tony’s shirt to expose his chest. Tony leaned back and let the shirt be pulled off Tim leaned forward, his tongue licking across Tony’s right nipple. As Tim continued to lick across Tony’s chest, Tony lifted Tim’s shirt and left him feeling each other’s skin touching. As the night wore on and their love-making continued, they both began to feel rather light-headed, and eventually their naked bodies fell asleep next to each other, completely exposed. From the window came the sound of a glass-cutter. As the glass fell away, a hand reached in and unlocked the window. Two men came in wearing gas masks, grabbed a robe and dressed Tony’s unresisting body into it. Hauling him over a shoulder, one man carried him out of the window while the other took photos from a camera and placed them in an envelope with a letter and placed it on the pillow. Slipping out of the window, they disappeared into the night. The next morning, Tim woke with a lot of vertigo and it took him a few minutes to come back to earth. Looking to the side of his bed, he saw the envelope and the missing Tony. Taking the letter, he opened it and instantly saw the photos of him and Tony in different phases of undress and sexual intercourse. Picking up his phone, he dialled the one and only person he knew could help. “Hello, Ziva?” A/N: Getting excited? We are nearing the end, so don’t overdo it.
